Typical of the Bay Area’s diverse culture, the pier was packed with food trucks and vendors serving street food from places far and near. The best part was that all dishes were 5 bucks or under and featured local, sustainable ingredients. A few Sparkies and friends got our foodie hats on and spent Saturday afternoon in gorgeous 80 degree weather, feasting ourselves to delicious mouth watering yummies including:

Chicken Zig at ÉireTrea: Irish and Eritrean Food Truck

Mary’s 1/4 chicken from Fire and Smoke (sponsored by Whole Foods)

Pulled pork slider from Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q

Lamb smothered fries at The Whole Beast

Awesome grilled cheese sandwiches

Nutella strawberry and mexican chocolate creme brûlées at the Creme Brûlée Cart

Pistachio double-scoops and ice-cream sandwiches at Ici Ice-cream

Cupcakes from La Luna Cupcakes, and more…

We’re extremely excited to be in the heart of Oakland’s Uptown district, the midst of Oakland Art Murmur, and even closer to an inspiring community of Oaklanders.

Storyteller Launches in Private Beta

Sparkart’s new product, Storyteller, launched on Wednesday in private Beta - and boy are we excited.

Around the office, we’ve joked about Storyteller and the category under which the product itself falls (and doesn’t fall) in the tech world. One thing’s for sure though: you don’t want to get caught calling it a CMS. Some of us have gone so far as to call it the antithesis of a Content Management System. “Storyteller: the anti-CMS”.

That may be a bit bold, though, and not entirely accurate.

So we’re calling it a Content Presentation System. Storyteller will allow for developers (ranging in knowledge and skill level) to build beautiful websites - in both look and functionality - in minutes using the APIs from everyone’s favorite already-established and widely used content platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Shopify… just to name a few.

The idea for Storyteller developed quickly and all at once. It was the culmination of nearly a decade of experience working with a proprietary CMS and the constraints and costs therein, particularly in such a rapidly advancing and expanding age of apps and integrations.

Check out storytellerhq.com now to request an invitation to our private Beta, or read more about Storyteller below from the folks at TechCrunch and Digital Trends!

“As our content is scattered across sites like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, the idea of a single, standalone website is starting to feel a bit quaint. On the consumer side, we’re seeing that with products like About.me and Flavors.me, which try to unify your various social identities in one place. Now a digital agency called Sparkart is tackling the problem from the brand and business side, with a product called Storyteller.”

“The timing is right for a product based on coding basics: the surge of interest in services like Codeacademy and Treehouse mean that a quite a few beginners wanting to test their new skills will flood the market.”

We’ve used dozens of CMS platforms over the years — and even built our own — to develop, manage, and serve our websites for tens of millions of people. What we’ve found however is that content is increasingly found outside of traditional CMS platforms. Services like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, and thousands of others provide new ways of producing and publishing content.

Today we’re announcing Storyteller, a new product from Sparkart that enables you to build great websites with content from anywhere. Visit www.storytellerhq.com today and register for our private beta, starting soon.
